§ Laurens studied under Léon Cogniet and Alexandre Bida.
§ Laurens was commissioned to paint public works by the French Third Republic, namely; the arch of the Pantheon, the steel vault of the Paris City Hall, the hall of distinguished citizens at the § Toulouse capitol, and the Odéon Theater.
§ He was a professor at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
§ Lauren’s two sons became painters and teachers at the Académie Julian.

It's a nice little ebook best viewed on iPad. I thank the authors because there is currently no English photo book available for Jean-Paul Laurens. However, I do hope that in future updates (if any) of this ebook, the authors could, on each page of painting, label with the name of the painting. It's painful to refer back to the table of contents.
