Mason's plane has been shot down and he has been severely injured. Part of his recovery process is to return to Washington to an intense therapy program. However, all he can think about is getting back to his men and how the therapist is standing in the way of that. Victoria has something to prove. As the daughter of a Senator, she has worked hard to show that she is a capable therapist & person and does not need Daddy's help to make it in life. Her very first patient is Mason and he is truly unexpected!I think this book is my favorite of the three. Again, it is a truly realistic story and one that your could definitely imagine happening. You always hear about our troops being hurt and also the casualties, but it never really hits home the struggle they face when they return home. This book is such an eye-opener about the feelings, thoughts & struggle our men face when they are injured in the line of duty. Not only do they have to recover physically from sometimes horrific injuries, but they also face depression, survivor's remorse and the over-whelming need to return. Mason's strength is phenomenal and Victoria is such an amazing match for him. She's firm in her opinion & beliefs about his treatment, but also understands & sympathizes with him. Can she bring him out of his depression and help him feel whole again? You've got to read and find out......;)
